Key Highlights & Experiences
Waterfall Hiking Adventure
our 40-minute hike follows a scenic trail through emerald landscapes where coffee and banana plantations create a patchwork of cultivation against wild tropical vegetation. The path can be steep and occasionally muddy, especially during rainy seasons, but every step rewards you with breathtaking views and fascinating insights from your guide.
Coffee Plantation Tour
Step into the aromatic world of Tanzanian coffee production on a working plantation. Your local guide will walk you through the complete journey—from cultivating coffee trees on Kilimanjaro's volcanic soil to harvesting ripe cherries, drying beans under the equatorial sun, and the careful roasting process that releases those intoxicating aromas.
Traditional Coffee Making
Grinding coffee beans the traditional way, accompanied by vibrant Chagga songs and dances—a joyful, energetic ceremony that transforms coffee making into celebration. Finally, savor the fruits of your labor as you brew and taste your own cup of fresh Kilimanjaro coffee while overlooking the stunning rainforest vistas. Many visitors claim it's the best coffee they've ever tasted, and you can purchase organic beans directly from the village to take home.
Authentic Chagga Cuisine
Enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by local families using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Expect dishes like banana and meat soup (with vegetarian bean and banana options), rice with savory meat stew, and other Chagga specialties that showcase the region's agricultural abundance. Don't miss the opportunity to sample Mbege—the traditional banana beer that's been part of Chagga social culture for centuries.
